Barr Realty, Inc. began as Stanley R. Barr Real Estate in 1964. It was founded by Steve’s father, Stanley R. Barr. The small office was located at 738 Columbia Avenue in the West End of Lancaster.
Steve Barr became a real estate salesperson in 1977 and joined his father’s firm. Around 1980, the office was relocated a few doors west of the existing office to a larger corner building at 744 Columbia Avenue. At this time, there were three agents at the office.
In 1982, we opened an office in Gap at the former Gap Bank Building. The business grew to 6 agents. In 1984, we purchased and remodeled the property at the corner of Route 30 and Pequea Avenue in Gap, which remains our office today.
In August 2014, Stanley Barr passed away, and the Lancaster Office was closed. We continued at our Gap location, servicing clients throughout the Southeastern parts of PA.
Through the years, we have remained an independent office and are not affiliated with any franchise company. In the areas we serve, our name recognition remains high, and our reputation for quality service has never changed.
